ELSI collaborates with the Blue Marble Space Institute of Science (BMSIS) for the Young Scientist Programme (YSP) 2022 summer internship on a science communication project. The YSP is open to college students and recent graduates to participate as Research Associates (RA) to conduct supervised research under direct supervision by one or more mentors.

The ELSI x BMSIS science communication project will be on the 'Landscape of Community Engagements Efforts in Origins of Life Research.' The RAs will map out the outreach materials within the Origins of Life (OoL) research field. The selected RAs will collect and create a repository of OoL outreach, education, and other engagement materials by identifying areas that are missing such content.

Furthermore, the YSP includes required modules in science communication and ethics and society with guidance from project mentors and other research scientists. Upon successfully completing the YSP and required modules, Research Associates shall receive a certificate of completion. The applications period is from 1 March through 15 April.
